Introducing Our Ayurvedic Himalayan Soaps - A better alternative.
Since our beginning, Fifth Origins has strived to do what's right for our environment and our community. Over the last seven years I have had the opportunity to co-create with rural artisans from all over India, which has helped us bring you the best designed, natural, ethical products. But we constantly questions ourselves - what can we to do more, to be better? Shouldn't we keep seeking new ways to enrich our customers' lives? We think so.
Fifth Origins is now offering sustainable wellness products, aiming to protect our Earth and the natural environments in it. We're so excited to introduce the first member of our new wellness range: Ayurvedic Himalayan soaps.
Most traditional soaps use synthetic, petroleum-based chemicals, which can strip our skin of its natural oils. They often come in plastic bottles, as well, contributing to the 300 million tons of plastic humans produce every year, much of which ends up in landfills.
Liquid soap is particularly guilty of harming our environment: It requires five times more energy to produce than bar soap, and it uses up to 20 times more packaging. Our planet needs us to take immediate action to minimize our plastic waste. But still, we all need reliable soap to keep us clean and healthy every day -- especially during a global pandemic.
Fortunately, it's possible to pursue health and wellness while also showing kindness to our planet -- and we can start by investing in environmentally friendly soap products. That's where Fifth Origins comes in: We want to make this investment accessible for people who care about what they put on their skin and how they impact the planet.
So, what makes our soaps so special?
For starters, our line of handmade, Himalayan soap bars is ethically made, using zero plastic and supporting small artisan communities in India. Our soaps employ principles of Ayurvedic medicine, one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems, whose Indian roots date back more than 3,000 years. And the cherry on top: These products feel amazing on your skin.
Each bar of soap from Fifth Origins uses materials straight from the Himalayas, handcrafted by artisan women of the Kumaon region. Our soaps contain only natural ingredients, utilizing plant-based products over man-made ingredients and animal byproducts. They boast healing, medicinal properties, and they never use harsh chemicals.
We should warn you: You might even feel tempted to eat our soaps -- but that'd waste their cleansing powers. Our soaps' natural ingredients work to gently purify the skin, preventing rashes and blemishes.
